The Purpose of the Crystal Lake Perch Lake (CLPL) Foundation is to receive and administer funds for the preservation of Crystal and Perch lakes, and for the education and public welfare of lake property owners (By-Laws, July 9, 2005). The CLPL Foundation is a 501.C.3 non-profit organization.

Foundation Board Members

The founding Board members of the Foundation include Carolyn Driscoll, Tom Lieblein, Tim Love, Marianne Susor, and Luewanna Gagneur. These initial Board members established a process to collect tax-exempt donations in support of lake preservation and other projects.

Current Board Members: Dave VanDerworp (President), Annamarie Asher (Secretary), Bob Burns (Treasurer), and Wayne Schneider.

Foundation, Association & SAD

A Special Assessment District (SAD) was initiated by the CLPL Association Board and approved by a majority of the Association members (fall, 2020), to include the cost of lake treatment to control invasive species. Previously, this work was co-managed by the Association Board and the Foundation.

The Foundation continues to collect donations to support the efforts, such as:

  • Monitor and research the lakes, educational materials for Association members, lake preservation, shoreline conservancy, and other training
  • Supporting additional lake treatment costs not covered by the SAD
  • Provide for fish stocking and fish habitat preservation, supported by donations specifically earmarked for this activity
  • Maintain the Stan Kirkwood Memorial Fund, directed by Thea Kirkwood (the Fund supports lake monitoring training and equipment)
  • Administration costs (P.O. Box, stamps, state incorporation fees)

Typical Foundation Donation Sources:

  • Property Owner Association members
  • Auctions of donated items
  • Sale of 50/50 raffle tickets
  • Sale of specialty items (e.g., artwork and craft items)
